Publications Ethics

Jurnal Hukum Mimbar Justitia is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics at every stage of the publishing process. This ethics statement is based on the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). These ethical standards apply to and are binding upon all parties involved, namely the journal publisher/manager, editors, reviewers, and authors.

Duties of the Publisher/Journal Manager

The journal manager is responsible for publishing manuscripts that have undergone editing, peer review, and management in accordance with scholarly principles. The manager guarantees the academic freedom of editors and reviewers in carrying out their duties, maintains confidentiality, protects intellectual property rights and copyright, and upholds scientific integrity by preventing any form of plagiarism, fabrication, and falsification of data.

Duties of the Editors

Editors are responsible for the decision to accept or reject a manuscript, taking into account its quality, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal's scope. Editors evaluate manuscripts based on their scholarly merit without regard to the author's ethnicity, religion, race, gender, nationality, or political views. Editors must maintain the confidentiality of manuscript information, refrain from using unpublished manuscripts for personal gain, and avoid any conflicts of interest.

Duties of the Reviewers

Reviewers assist the editors in making editorial decisions through objective, constructive, and timely reviews. Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts, decline to review manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest, and report to the editor any significant similarity to other works or any suspected plagiarism.

Duties of the Authors

Authors must submit original manuscripts that have not been previously published and are not under consideration by any other publisher. Authors are responsible for the authenticity of their manuscript's content, must properly cite all references, and must avoid plagiarism, fabrication, and falsification of data. Authors must ensure that all individuals who made significant contributions are listed as authors and must promptly notify the editor of any errors or inaccuracies discovered in a published work so that a correction or retraction can be made.
