Journal History

The following is a brief history of Jurnal Hukum Mimbar Justitia:

  1. Establishment as the Law Journal of the Faculty of Law, Suryakancana University: Jurnal Hukum Mimbar Justitia was initially established as the Law Journal of the Faculty of Law, Suryakancana University. The journal is a scientific publication focusing on legal topics relevant to the scope of the Faculty of Law, Suryakancana University.
  2. Change of Name: The journal subsequently underwent a change of name to Jurnal Hukum Mimbar Keadilan, reflecting the evolution of the journal's focus and editorial approach.
  3. Change of ISSN: Along with the change of name, the journal also underwent changes in its ISSN. The initial ISSN was 1693-7546, then changed to 2089-7618, and finally to 2477-5681. These changes reflect the administrative processes that commonly occur in the management of scientific journals.
  4. Change of Format to Online Edition: The Vol. 3 No. 1, June 2017 edition marked the beginning of the transition to an online format with ISSN 2580-0906. This change reflects the journal's adaptation to the development of information technology and the need for better accessibility for its readers.
  5. SINTA 4 Accreditation (2019–2023): Jurnal Hukum Mimbar Justitia successfully achieved SINTA 4 accreditation for the period 2019 to 2023, demonstrating recognition of the journal's quality and its contribution to the advancement of legal scholarship.
  6. Quality Improvement and Editorial Reform (2024–present): In early 2024, following the expiration of the SINTA 4 accreditation period, the leadership of the Faculty of Law, Suryakancana University, resolved to enhance the overall quality of Jurnal Hukum Mimbar Justitia. The measures undertaken included a restructuring of the journal's editorial management (pengelola), a redesign of the journal's visual appearance, refinement of the writing systematics, and a revision of the manuscript template. The updated template adopts a footnote-based citation model supported by reference management applications (Mendeley/Zotero), a standardized writing structure, and a biannual publication schedule (June and December), all designed to comply with the latest national accreditation standards.

With these measures, the journal aims to remain relevant and of high quality in presenting scholarly works in the field of law.
