Artikel ini akan mendeskripsikan aspek sosial cerita pendek pada kumpulan Bunga Layu di Bandar Baru karya Yulhasni serta pemanfaatannya sebagai bahan ajar. Metode penelitian yang diguanakan adalah metode deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh oleh subjek dalam pembelajaran pembelajaran menulis cerpen pada siswa kelas XI di SMA Pasundan 1 Cianjur adalah 80. Nilai tersebut berada dalam kategori Baik. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemanfaatan nilai sosial pada kumpulan cerpen Bunga Layu di Bandar Baru karya Yulhasni sebagai bahan ajar dalam pembelajaran menulis cerpen pada siswa kelas XI di SMA Pasundan 1 Cianjur memberikan hasil yang positif dan mampu mendorong siswa dalam menulis cerpen.

This article will describe the social aspects of the short story in the collection of Bunga Layu in Bandar Baru by Yulhasni and its use as teaching material. The research method used is descriptive method. The results showed the average value obtained by the subject in learning to write short stories in class XI students in SMA Pasundan 1 Cianjur was 80. The value was in the Good category. So it can be concluded that the use of social values in the collection of Bunga Layu short stories in Bandar Baru by Yulhasni as teaching material in learning to write short stories in class XI students at SMA Pasundan 1 Cianjur gave positive results and was able to encourage students to write short stories.
