Penerapan Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, Shitsuke (5S) pada Industri: Kajian Literatur

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the 5S method (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, Shitsuke) across various industries to improve efficiency, productivity, and work quality. The research method employed is a systematic literature review, analyzing 50 national and international journals selected based on relevance to the topic, industrial sectors, and 5S implementation outcomes. The findings show that 5S implementation provides multiple benefits, such as reducing operational time, improving storage efficiency, minimizing waste, enhancing workplace safety, and reducing material or tool searching time. Practical examples include an 8% reduction in blowing operational time in the plastic manufacturing industry and a 95.37% reduction in spare part searching time in the printing sector. In the healthcare sector, 5S has also proven effective in reducing patient waiting times to a more efficient level. The study further reveals that the success of 5S implementation is highly influenced by management commitment and active employee participation. In some cases, 5S not only increases productivity but also improves employee morale and job satisfaction. Nevertheless, some studies note challenges such as a lack of training and limited understanding of 5S concepts, which may hinder successful implementation. Overall, the 5S method is an effective approach to optimizing work processes, reducing waste, and enhancing organizational competitiveness across various industrial sectors. With planned and sustainable application, 5S can serve as a strong foundation for lean manufacturing transformation and a more productive work culture. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi metode 5S (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, Shitsuke) dalam berbagai industri untuk meningkatkan efisiensi, produktivitas, dan kualitas kerja. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah literature review dengan pendekatan sistematis, melalui analisis terhadap 50 jurnal nasional dan internasional yang dipilih berdasarkan relevansi topik, sektor industri, serta hasil implementasi 5S. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan 5S memberikan berbagai keuntungan, seperti pengurangan waktu operasional, peningkatan efisiensi ruang penyimpanan, penurunan limbah, peningkatan keselamatan kerja, dan pengurangan waktu pencarian material atau alat. Contoh nyata dari penerapan ini terlihat dalam pengurangan waktu operasional blowing hingga 8% di industri manufaktur plastik dan pengurangan waktu pencarian spare part sebesar 95,37% pada sektor percetakan. Selain itu, pada sektor kesehatan, 5S mampu mengurangi waktu tunggu pasien di rumah sakit hingga ke tingkat yang lebih efisien. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa keberhasilan penerapan 5S sangat dipengaruhi oleh komitmen manajemen dan partisipasi aktif karyawan. Dalam beberapa kasus, implementasi 5S tidak hanya meningkatkan produktivitas tetapi juga meningkatkan moral dan kepuasan kerja karyawan. Kendati demikian, beberapa studi mencatat adanya tantangan, seperti kurangnya pelatihan dan pemahaman konsep 5S, yang dapat menghambat keberhasilan implementasi. Secara keseluruhan, metode 5S merupakan pendekatan yang efektif untuk mengoptimalkan proses kerja, mengurangi pemborosan, dan meningkatkan daya saing organisasi di berbagai sektor industri. Dengan penerapan yang terencana dan berkelanjutan, 5S dapat menjadi fondasi yang kuat bagi transformasi lean manufacturing dan budaya kerja yang lebih produktif.References
