Plagiarism Policy
The journal is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and publication ethics. Plagiarism in any form is considered a serious violation of ethical publishing practices and is not tolerated.
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the act of presenting another person's ideas, words, data, images, or other intellectual contributions as one's own without proper acknowledgment or citation. Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:
-
Direct Plagiarism: Copying text or material from another source without proper quotation or citation.
-
Mosaic Plagiarism: Combining phrases, sentences, or ideas from various sources without appropriate acknowledgment.
-
Self-Plagiarism: Reusing substantial portions of one's previously published work without proper citation or disclosure.
-
Improper Paraphrasing: Rewriting another author's ideas without providing appropriate attribution.
-
Data and Image Plagiarism: Using another person's data, figures, tables, photographs, or other materials without proper acknowledgment or permission where required.
Plagiarism Screening
All manuscripts submitted to the journal may be screened using plagiarism detection software, such as Turnitin or other equivalent tools, to identify similarities with previously published works and other available sources.
The editorial team evaluates similarity reports carefully. A similarity score alone does not determine whether plagiarism has occurred, as properly cited quotations, references, and commonly used terminology may contribute to the overall similarity index.
The journal applies a maximum similarity threshold of 20%, unless otherwise specified by the journal's editorial policy. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected, depending on the nature and extent of the identified similarities.
Handling of Plagiarism
If plagiarism is identified during the submission or review process, the journal may take one or more of the following actions:
-
Request clarification or revision from the author.
-
Return the manuscript for correction of improper citations or attribution.
-
Reject the manuscript if substantial plagiarism is identified.
-
Retract a published article if plagiarism is discovered after publication.
-
Notify the author's affiliated institution or other relevant parties in serious cases, where appropriate.
All cases will be assessed fairly and confidentially, taking into account the evidence, severity, and context of the suspected misconduct.
Authors' Responsibilities
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original, properly cited, and free from plagiarism. All sources of ideas, data, quotations, and other materials must be appropriately acknowledged. Authors must also ensure that any reuse of their previously published work is properly disclosed and cited.
Commitment to Publication Ethics
The journal follows recognized principles of publication ethics and aims to ensure transparency, fairness, and academic integrity throughout the publication process. Allegations of plagiarism will be handled in accordance with the journal's publication ethics procedures and applicable ethical guidelines.
By submitting a manuscript, authors acknowledge and agree to comply with this Plagiarism Policy.
