Correction, Retraction and Withdrawal Policy
Article Correction and Retraction Policy
Correction Policy
Agroscience is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the scholarly record. If errors are identified in articles after publication, the journal will take appropriate action to correct the published record in a transparent and timely manner. All corrections will be handled by the editorial team in accordance with established publication ethics principles.
1. Grounds for Correction
A correction may be issued when an error or omission is identified in a published article and the error does not invalidate the overall findings or conclusions of the research.
Examples of errors that may require correction include, but are not limited to:
-
Errors in author names, affiliations, or other author information.
-
Errors in figures, tables, captions, or supplementary materials.
-
Incorrect data, references, or factual information that may affect the interpretation of the article but do not invalidate its main conclusions.
-
Errors introduced during manuscript editing, typesetting, or publication.
-
Missing or incorrect acknowledgments, funding information, or declarations of competing interests.
-
Other errors that may affect the clarity, accuracy, or integrity of the published article.
2. Types of Corrections
Agroscience may issue the following types of corrections:
Erratum
An erratum is issued to correct errors introduced by the journal or publisher during the editorial, production, or publication process.
Corrigendum
A corrigendum is issued to correct errors originating from the authors that were identified after publication.
The Editor-in-Chief will determine the appropriate type of correction based on the nature and source of the error.
3. Correction Procedure
Requests for corrections may be submitted by the authors, readers, editors, or other parties who identify a potential error in a published article.
The correction procedure is as follows:
-
The request is submitted to the journal's editorial office with a clear explanation of the error and supporting evidence, where applicable.
-
The editorial team evaluates the request and may consult the authors, reviewers, or relevant experts when necessary.
-
The Editor-in-Chief determines whether a formal correction is required and approves the proposed action.
-
If approved, a correction notice is published, clearly describing the error and the corresponding correction.
-
The correction notice is linked to the original article to ensure transparency and traceability.
4. Publication of Correction Notices
Correction notices will clearly identify the affected article by its title, author names, publication details, and DOI, where available. The notice will explain the nature of the error and specify the changes made.
Correction notices will be published as promptly as reasonably possible after the editorial decision. They will be freely accessible to readers and linked to the original article.
The original article will remain part of the scholarly record. Any amendments to the published article will be documented transparently, and the journal will not make substantive changes without an appropriate record of the correction.
5. Corrections and Retractions
Corrections are appropriate when an error can be rectified without invalidating the main findings or conclusions of the article.
If an investigation establishes that an article contains serious errors, unreliable data, plagiarism, fabricated or falsified results, or other significant ethical violations that undermine the reliability of the research, the journal may consider retracting the article in accordance with its Retraction Policy and applicable publication ethics guidelines.
The decision to issue a correction or retract an article rests with the Editor-in-Chief, following an appropriate editorial assessment.
6. Responsibilities of Authors
Authors are responsible for notifying the editorial office promptly if they discover significant errors in their published work. They must provide accurate information about the error and cooperate with the editorial team throughout the correction process.
All authors may be consulted regarding a proposed correction, particularly when the correction affects the interpretation of the research, author contributions, or other important publication details.
7. Editorial Responsibility
The editorial team of Agroscience is responsible for assessing correction requests fairly, objectively, and consistently. All decisions will be based on the nature and significance of the error and its potential impact on the accuracy and reliability of the scholarly record.
Agroscience follows recognized publication ethics principles and relevant guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to promote transparency, accountability, and responsible scholarly publishing.
Article Retraction and Withdrawal Policy
The journal is committed to maintaining the integrity, transparency, and reliability of scholarly publications. Article retraction and withdrawal are conducted in accordance with publication ethics and recognized best practices in scholarly publishing.
1. Article Retraction
An article may be retracted if there is clear evidence of serious violations of publication ethics or substantial errors that invalidate its findings. Grounds for retraction may include, but are not limited to:
-
Plagiarism or significant text duplication.
-
Data fabrication or falsification.
-
Serious errors that invalidate the research findings or conclusions.
-
Duplicate publication or redundant publication.
-
Undisclosed conflicts of interest that may have influenced the research.
-
Unethical research practices or violations of research ethics.
-
Authorship misconduct or other serious breaches of publication ethics.
Retraction decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief after an appropriate investigation and, where necessary, consultation with the authors, reviewers, or relevant institutions. A retraction notice will be published to explain the reason for the retraction, and the original article will remain accessible with a clear retracted label to maintain the scholarly record.
2. Article Withdrawal
Article withdrawal refers to the removal of a manuscript before its formal publication. Authors who wish to withdraw a manuscript must submit a written request to the editor, providing a valid reason for withdrawal.
A manuscript may be withdrawn under circumstances such as:
-
Submission of an incorrect or incomplete manuscript that cannot be adequately corrected.
-
Accidental duplicate submission.
-
Discovery of significant ethical or methodological problems before publication.
-
Other reasonable circumstances approved by the editorial board.
Authors are not permitted to withdraw a manuscript solely to submit it to another journal while it is still under consideration by this journal. Withdrawal requests will be reviewed by the editorial board, and the authors will receive written notification of the decision.
3. Retraction and Withdrawal Procedure
The journal follows a fair and transparent procedure when handling retraction or withdrawal requests:
-
The editor receives a retraction or withdrawal request or identifies a potential publication ethics concern.
-
The editor reviews the evidence and may request clarification or supporting documents from the authors.
-
The editorial board evaluates the case and determines the appropriate action.
-
The decision is communicated to the relevant parties.
-
If retraction is necessary, a formal retraction notice is published. If withdrawal is approved before publication, the manuscript's editorial status is updated accordingly.
4. Editorial Responsibility
The Editor-in-Chief and editorial board are responsible for ensuring that all retraction and withdrawal decisions are handled objectively, confidentially, and in accordance with publication ethics. Authors are expected to cooperate fully during investigations and provide accurate information when requested.
This policy aims to protect the integrity of the scientific record and uphold the journal's commitment to responsible scholarly publishing.
