Efforts to Increase Understanding of Mathematical Concepts by Using Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) Learning Model at Mts Muslimin Bojongpicung

Abstract


The subject will be easily understood and remembered by students if the subject is presented through appropriate, clear and interesting procedures and steps. The purpose of this mathematical study was to determine the extent of understanding of mathematical concepts using the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) learning model. This model is one of the simplest types of cooperative learning model and consists of five main components, namely the presentation of classes, teams, quizzes, individual progress scores, and team recognition. The method used in this study is classroom action research (CAR) which consists of three cycles. Each cycle consists of five components, namely problem identification, planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subject of this study was class VII B MTs Muslimin Bojongpicung Cianjur. The subject materials given in this learning are about the set. Based on the results of the test analysis, it was found that understanding of mathematical concepts can be improved by using the Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) learning model, which was shown to increase understanding of concepts obtained by students in each cycle
