Peer Review Process

Any manuscript submitted to Jurnal Media Teknik dan Sistem Industri will be checked for plagiarism first, then reviewed with a blind peer review policy. Reviewer is the individual with the field corresponding to the content of the manuscript.

Reviewer can provide four types of recommendations to the editors of the manuscript reviewed:

  • Can be published as-is (without revision)
  • Major revisions
  • Minor revisions
  • Rejected & resubmit

Editor / Editor of Jurnal Media Teknik dan Sistem Industri will decide on the manuscript to be published based on recommendation issued by reviewer.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

 

Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions on submitted manuscripts, with responsibilities:

  1. A reviewer is responsible for the recomendation status based on content of reviewed manuscripts. 
  2. The review process is done objectively, and supported by clear arguments.
  3. The reviewers are responsible for citation, references, and plagiarism of reviewed manuscripts.
  4. Reviewers keep information related to manuscripts confidential.

 

Publication Charges

Starting issue in 2022 Jurnal Media Teknik dan Sistem Industri applies a fee for each article published.

 

Screening for Plagiarism

The submitted text will be through plagiarism checking using Turnitin or Plagiarsm Checker X. The maximum limit of plagiarism is 20%.

 

Copyright Notice

The author reserves the copyright of his/her paper, but must include Jurnal Media Teknik dan Sistem Industri as the publication media of his/her paper.

 

Publishing Rights

The publishing rights are held by Jurnal Media Teknik dan Sistem Industri, but the authors can assist the dissemination of Jurnal Media Teknik dan Sistem Industri publications.

 

Publication Ethics

Publication Ethics

Code of ethics in Jurnal Media Teknik dan Sistem Industri: This journal follows the guidance of the Head of LIPI Regulation No. 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications. The essence of this code of ethics is to uphold three ethical values in publications, namely (a) Neutrality, which is free from conflicting interests in managing publications; (b) Justice, namely giving authorship rights to those entitled as authors / writers; and (b) Honesty, i.e. free from duplication, fabrication, falsification and plagiarism (DF2P) in publications.

 

This code of ethics applies to all Jurnal Media Teknik dan Sistem Industri users including journal managers, editors, section editors, reviewers, and authors.

 

Duties and Responsibilities of Journal Manager

  1. Determine the name of the journal, scope of science, validity, and accreditation if necessary.
  2. Determine editorial board membership.
  3. Defines the relationship between the publisher, editor, reviewers, and other parties in a contract.
  4. Respect confidential matters, both for contributing researchers, writers, editors, and reviewers.
  5. Applying norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright.
  6. Do a journal policy review and present it to the author, the editorial board, reviewers, and readers.
  7. Create a code of conduct guide for editors and reviewers.
  8. Publish journals regularly.
  9. Guarantee the availability of financial resources for the sustainability of journal publishing.
  10. Building a network of cooperation and marketing.
  11. Prepare licensing and other aspects of legality.

 

Editor's Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Meeting the needs of readers and writers.
  2. Strive to improve the quality of publications on an ongoing basis.
  3. Implement a process to guarantee the quality of published works.
  4. Promoting freedom of opinion objectively.
  5. Maintaining the integrity of the author's academic track record.
  6. Submit corrections, clarifications, withdrawals, and apologies if needed.
  7. Responsible for the style and format of the paper, while the contents and all statements in the paper are the responsibility of the author.
  8. Actively soliciting the opinions of authors, readers, reviewers, and editorial board members to improve the quality of publications.
  9. Encourage the evaluation of journals if there are findings.
  10. Support initiatives to reduce research and publication errors by asking authors to attach an Ethics Clearing form that has been approved by the Ethics Clearing Commission.
  11. Support initiatives to educate researchers about publication ethics.
  12. Reviewing the effects of published policies on the attitudes of writers and reviewers and fixing them to increase responsibility and minimize errors.
  13. Having an open mind to new opinions or the views of others that may conflict with personal opinions.
  14. Do not defend your own opinion, the author or a third party that can lead to decisions, not objective.
  15. Encourage writers, so they can make improvements to the paper so that it is worth publishing.

 

Duties and Responsibilities of the Reviewer

  1. Obtain the task of the editor to review the paper and submit the results of the review to the editor, as material for determining the eligibility of a paper to be published.
  2. Examiners may not examine written papers that involve them, either directly or indirectly.
  3. Maintain the privacy of writers by not disseminating the results of corrections, suggestions, and recommendations by providing criticism, suggestions, input, and recommendations.
  4. Encourage writers to make improvements to the paper.
  5. Re-examine the paper that has been repaired following predetermined standards.
  6. The paper is reviewed on time according to the style of the publication's environment based on scientific principles (data collection methods, author's legality, conclusions, etc.).

Duties and Responsibilities of the Author

  1. Ensuring that those who are on the writer's list meet the criteria as an author.
  2. Collectively responsible for the work and content of the article including the method, analysis, calculation, and details.
  3. State the origin of data sources (including funding), both directly and indirectly.
  4. Explain limitations in research
  5. Respond to comments made by reviewers in a professional and timely manner.
  6. Inform the editor if he will retract his writing.
  7. Make a statement that the paper submitted for publication is original, has never been published anywhere in any language, and is not in the process of being submitted to other publishers.
  8. Authors are required to fill out, sign (stamped), and send a Statement of Ethics as an attached file at the time of submission of the manuscript.

 

CODE OF ETHICS & PLAGIARISM POLICY

Article Writing Code of Ethics

  1. The author is responsible for the overall contents of the article which includes methods, analysis, calculations, and details.
  2. The author responds promptly to comments made by peer reviews in a professional and timely manner.
  3. Authors must inform editors if they retract their papers.
  4. The author describes the limitations of this study.
  5. The author respects the publisher if the article submitted, for one reason or another, does not become published.
  6. The author informs the editors of papers that are part of a gradual, multidisciplinary study and different perspectives.
  7. The author makes the statement that the paper sent for publication is original, has never been published anywhere in any language, and is not in the process of being submitted to other publishers.
  8. If there are errors in the paper, the writer must immediately notify the editor or publisher.
  9. The use of material from other publications that are protected by copyright, must be given written permission and gratitude.
  10. The author refers to the work of others who are accordingly quoted and quoted in the paper.
  11. When presenting new findings or enhancing findings, the writer must mention the previous work, researcher/writer/ founder.
  12. Authors are not permitted to provide bibliographies of publications if they have not read the publication.
  13. If requested, the author prepares evidence that the research meets the ethical requirements of the study including field notes.
  14. The author responds if there are comments or feedback after the paper is published.

 

Plagiarism Policy

Which is included in plagiarism as follows:

  1. Referring and/or quoting terms, words and/or sentences, data or information from the source without quoting the source in the quotation note and/or without adequately stating the source.
  2. Referring or quoting random terms, words or sentences and information from the source without quoting the source in the quotation note or without adequately stating the source.
  3. Using ideas, opinions, views or theories without adequately stating the source.
  4. Formulate your own words or sentences from the source of words or phrases, ideas, opinions, views, or theories without expressing the source adequately.
  5. Submitting scientific work produced or published by others as a source of scientific work without adequate disclosure.

Plagiarism Checking

The editor checks plagiarism 1 time before it is published: The article is checked again using the Turnitin or Plagiarsm Checker X after the article is declared eligible to be published and carried out before the article is published.

 

Penalty

If the author is proven to be duplicating, fabricating, falsifying, plagiarism, or publishing one manuscript in two or more different journals, the author is sanctioned in the form of article revocation, publication cancellation, the author becomes a black-list of Jurnal Media Teknik dan Sistem Industri
