Author Guidelines

JOEPALLT seeks to publish research reports, articles, discussion, case and comparative studies, expert commentaries, and perspectives that are most influential from all field related to English teaching, applied linguistics, and literature in particular and education in general. Selected papers should present robust, reliable and broadly important data, syntheses, or concepts.

There are some guidelines that should be followed by prospective authors:

  1. Article length is 10 pages minimun and 15 pages maximum (4000-8000 words), including bibliography and appendices;

  2. Abstract and its keywords as many as 5-7 words are included;

  3. The article may be written by four persons maximum and it should be written in English or Indonesian;

  4. Attach a bio mentioning authors current profession, newest photograph, and e-mail addresses.

  5. Applied in OJS;

  6. Referencing by Mendeley Application.

 

The article must adhere the following outline:

  • Title (concise, clear and interesting)
  • Name of author

  • E-mail Address

  • Affiliation

  • Abstract (including keywords)

  • Introduction

  • Theoretical Frameworks

  • Method

  • Findings and Discussion

  • Result

  • References

Prospective authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy and recently of the factual content of their contributions. Author(s) must also ensure the originality of the manuscript. In other words, the manuscript must be completed with written acknowledgement that the article has not been published in any other journals.

Plagiarism covers the use of concept, ideas or words that have been published previously and it is absolutely prohibited.  Redundancy/self-plagiarism is also unacceptable. The language in the manuscript must be suitably edited and it covers 4000-8000 words (excluding tables, figures and references), if exceeded will be returned for editing.

The manuscripts should be sent at least 1 month prior to publication month (March and September) addressed to the editor of JOEPALLT. It is highly recommended to send the manuscript via e-mail to this address. All articles will be reviewed by the editor and the selected articles presentations will be notified of acceptance within two weeks after the submission. Published articles authors will receive 2 (two) exemplars of the journal. Unpublished articles will not be reassigned to the authors, unless on written request from the author.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).

  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.

  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.

  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.

  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

 

Copyright Notice

I. Transfer of copyright

By execution of the present Statement Author transfers copyright and assigns exclusively to Publisher all rights, title and interest that Author may have (for the extent transferable) in and to the Article and any revisions or versions, but not limited to the sole right to print, publish and sell the Article worldwide in all languages and media. Transfer of the above rights is referred to as those of the final and published version of the Article but does not restrict Author to self-archive the preprint version of his/her paper.


II. Rights and obligations of Publisher

The Publisher rights to the Article shall especially include, but shall not be limited to:

  1. Ability to publish an electronic version of the Article via the website

  2. Distribution provided by or through joepallt from time to time, selling the Article world-wide (through subscriptions, Pay-per-View, single archive sale, etc.)

  3. Publishing the Article in the printed Journals as listed on the official Website of Publisher

  4. Transferring the copyright and the right of use of the Article.

  5. Taking measures on behalf of the Author against infringement, inappropriate use of the Article, libel or plagiarism.

  6. Publisher agrees to send the text of the Article to the e-mail address of Author indicated in the present Statement for preview before the first publishing either in paper and/or electronic format (Proof). Author shall return the corrected text of the Article within 1 week to the Publisher.

III. Rights and obligations of Author

  1. The Author declares and warrants that he/she is the exclusive author of the Article or has the right to represent all co-authors of the and has not granted any exclusive or non-exclusive right to the Article to any third party prior to the execution of the present Statement and has the right therefore to enter into the present Statement and entitle the Publisher the use of the Article subject to the present Statement.

  2. By executing the present Statement Author confirms that the Article is free of plagiarism, and that Author has exercised reasonable care to ensure that it is accurate and, to the best of Author's knowledge, does not contain anything which is libelous, or obscene, or infringes on anyone copyright, right of privacy, or other rights.

  3. The preprint version is the Authors' manuscript or the galley proof or the Authors' manuscript along with the corrections made in the course of the peer review process. The Authors' right to self-archive is irrespective of the format of the preprint (.doc, .tex., .pdf) version and self-archiving includes the free circulation of this file via e-mail or publication of this preprint on the Authors' webpage or on the Authors' institutional repository with open or restricted access.

For any disputes arising from or in connection with the present Statement Parties agree in the exclusive competence of joepallt's publisher
