Author Guidelines

Introduction

JE (Journal of Empowerment) was formed based on the results of the Suryakancana University Leaders Meeting on January 28, 2017, and was approved on April 8, 2017, in accordance with Rector Decree Number 11/SK/REK / UG / IV / 2017 regarding the appointment of the Journal Manager of Community Service at Suryakancana University. The name of the Journal of Community Service is JE (Journal of Empowerment). JE (Journal of Empowerment) is a means of developing science and technology in exact and non-exact fields through the publication of writing based on the results of community service (original).

JE (Journal of Empowerment) is a periodic scientific journal published by the Institute of Research and Community Service of Suryakancana University (LPPM UNSUR) twice a year in June and December. JE (Journal of Empowerment), has registered number ISSN 2580-0620 (print), and ISSN 2597-9809 (online). The first edition is Volume 1, Number. 1, June 2017. JE (Journal of Empowerment) has the vision to become a Scientific journal with National and international standard in disseminating and developing the results of conceptual.

How to Write the Title, the Name, Author's Address, and Abstract

The title of the manuscript is in Indonesian and English, in bold and letters capital (uppercase), font size 12, no more than 14 words, line spacing 1 (single), and includes the location of service (Village and Province are included), as well as after the title followed by the author's full name (without title and without profession), address, and e-mail, with the size of font  11  WITHOUT bold (bold). If the author is more than one then it is followed by a comma (,) followed by the name of the next author.

Abstracts are written in standard English consistently (American English or British English). Abstracts are written in good and correct Indonesian, using standard words. Both abstract and abstract are made in one whole paragraph without reference library or reference tables and/or images, no more than 150 words written with letters Tw Cen MT 12, line spacing 1(single), accompanied by Keyword(Keyword), a maximum of 5 the word. The contents must contain important problems to be solved, objectives, methods, results, conclusions, and should not be too dense with numbers. Shorthand is not permitted unless the word is used more than once.

The Manuscript General Guidelines

  1. The manuscript is the result of dedication, the original has never been published;
  2. The manuscript does not contain plagiarism;
  3. Submission and publication process for free, without additional costs;
  4. Editors Journal of Empowerment (JE), receive manuscripts of the results of community service, through the system online by registering through the Operation Journal System (OJS) (with the link https://jurnal.unsur.ac.id/index.php/JE), then register as an author;
  5. The article writing guide (template) can be downloaded on the JE page;
  6. Manuscripts sent to journal editors, if the manuscript is not in accordance with the writing guidelines, then the manuscript will be returned back to the author before the next process is carried out;
  7. The manuscript that is submitted includes several aspects, such as Article Title; Abstract; Preliminary; Method; Results or Discussion; Closing; Thank-you note; and Bibliography;
  8. Each person's name is written in bold, and every foreign language writing is in italics;
  9. Manuscripts sent consist of 15-20 pages, in A4 format, 1 space, letters  Tw Cen MT 12, and a 3 cm limit (right, left, top and bottom), using the program Microsoft Office Word;
  10. The manuscript is equipped with the author's bio, including Name, Origin College, Address E-mail, Education History. All manuscript pages including tables, attachments, and references must be numbered in the page-sequence. Each table or figure is given a serial number, title, and source of citation;
  11. The quotations referred to in the writing of this article MUST use the Mendeley Tools and references The bibliography is written alphabetically and is standardized by the American Psychological Association 7th Edition (APA). citation sources consist of a minimum of 15 (fifteen) citations, must cite, and the last 10 years of the citation with a reference percentage from the journal of 80%.

Author Biodata (CV)

Biodata or CV writing consists of, name, place, date of birth, home address, office address, occupation, telephone/cellphone number, e-mail, educational history, work history, workshops, seminars, training, and signed.

Statement letter

A statement letter from the author that the manuscript sent to the editorial staff of the Journal of Empowerment is an original manuscript and has never been published in any journal or in any scientific forum activities.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

With the receipt of the article by the JE (Journal of Empowerment) Editorial Board and the decision to publish it,  the copyright regarding the article will be diverted to JE (Journal of Empowerment).

The Institute of Research and Community Service of Suryakancana University (LPPM UNSUR), as the publisher of JE (Journal of Empowerment), holds the copyright to all the published articles in this journal.

The Institute of Research and Community Service of Suryakancana University (LPPM UNSUR) has the right to multiply and distribute the article, and every author is not allowed to publish the same article that was published in this journal. Thanks to Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Universitas Suryakancana (LPPM UNSUR), which funded this journal on sustainability.
